Who am I?

My name is Yosif. I’m a medical student and an aspiring content creator passionate about growth, productivity, religion and living a healthy life.

Behind The Scenes

I’m a 1st year medical student in the UK, I have started making content this year and hope to make content that inspires and educates people.

This page is all about me and how I ended up here, consider it as a character’s backstory. Hopefully you find it interesting 😊.

The Short Version:

The Long Version:

2001 – 2016
I was born in Iraq in 2001, moved to Malaysia for a while, before going back to Iraq. Then ultimately moving to the United Kingdom with my family in 2016.

I had to move a lot during my childhood due to the ongoing conflict in Iraq at the time. While this was unsettling, it allowed me to meet so many people which explains why I am such an extrovert.
2016 – 2019
When I came to the UK, I was put in year 11, and with my limited English language, taking the GCSE exams was a big challenge for me. After finishing school, I went to study Arabic, biology, chemistry, and religious studies for my A-levels with hopes of getting into medical school, but God had other plans.
2019 – 2022
After my A-levels, I joined Aston University to study biomedical science where I completed my bachelor’s degree whilst working part-time. At university I was introduced to the Islamic society (ISOC) which helped me get closer to my faith and build good friendships. However, Covid and lockdown limited my university experience.
2022 – 2023
After graduation, I applied to medical schools (again) both in the UK and abroad. I was accepted abroad but I declined a week before my start date and decided to stay in the UK and work instead. I started working as a healthcare assistant in a rehab unit whilst working on my medical application.
2023 - 2024
I started working as a Band 4 SLT and I applied for medical school (AGAIN!). Thankfully, I was accepted into medicine this time! I decided to reinvent myself during this time; took a break from social media and dived into the world of self-development, productivity and growth. I started going to the gym and took my religion more seriously.
2024 - Present
I moved to London to study MBBS and started my journey to become Dr Yosif. I decided to start making content and writing more to help me learn more and share my journey with anyone that might find it beneficial.

Alhamdulillah for everything and a huge thank you to anyone and everyone who has supported me so far.

Let’s see what the rest of 2024 holds...
